NEC Computers Asia Pacific (NECCAP) Announces New Appointment of Company President in Asia Pacific

NEC Computers Asia Pacific (NECCAP) today announced the new appointment of Mr. Kiyotaka Matsubara as the company President. Mr. Matsubara will be based in Penang headquarters to replace Mr. Hiroyuki Masuda, who will continue the role of Chairman. According to Mr. Masuda, the competitive intensity in the overall PC industry and APAC markets have increased significantly, therefore, we require close marketing attention and management concentration. The appointment is to further strengthen NECCAP management for more effective market development in the region.

Mr. Matsubara has been with NEC Japan for over 30 years. Started with NEC in April 1980, in the Computer Engineering Division, his career progression has taken him to various divisions and entities within the NEC Corporation group of companies. For the immediate past four years, he has been heading NECP's Yonezawa plant as the General Manager, Development and Manufacturing Division, PC Operations Unit and has introduced many innovations to establish the NECP operations to world class standard.

A graduate of Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Kogyo Daigaku) with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering Control, Mr. Matsubara also holds a Master Degree in Information Processing.
